NEW PROSPECTS IN HOUSING DEVELOPMENT THROUGH TOKİ's INNOVATIVE FINANCIAL AND TECHNICAL MECHANISMS

CREDIT SUPPORT TO INDIVIDUALS, COOPARATIVES AND MUNICIPALITIES:

In addition to engage in the production of modern urban environments, TOKİ also provides long term credits. TOKİ has provided loans for the housing cooperatives, municipalities, individuals and the members of families who have died while serving the Turkish State, the disabled widoes and orphans since 1984.

In this mode of housing supply, TOKİ primarly acts as the supplier of housing counstruction loans. The terms of the loans are specified in regulations issued by TOKİ. The applications for loans are accepted and evaluated by the banks which have branches throughout the country.

Maturity is ranging from 5-10 years.

In additional to its implementations, TOKİ has imposed some requirements for new loan applications to finalize counstructions of the projects who have not used TOKİ housing loans before.

Housing projects have been graded according to its regions, construction levels, housing area and the infrastructure of the project. Due to this system, TOKİ shall be continuing its credit efforts primarily for the areas where housing need is at the critical and urgent levels, the earthquake devastated cities and under-developed regions.

Furthermore, TOKİ shall be crediting and supporting the projects towards preserving the historical construct and rural architecture, which is one of the origins of modern urbanization.
